Boulevard Studios was contracted as part of the consultant team to assist with development and
visualization of transportation initiatives, particularly from a site planning and landscape architectural standpoint.
Through extensive data collection including meetings with residents, site walks, and photo inventories grew an understanding of
Grafton’s concerns for the function of its core amenities downtown and in its parks and how they serve the residential areas in between.
The study eventually led to a new overall parks planning effort.
Ideas that arose from the initial analyses were echoed in work sessions with a project steering committee as well as in public meetings
to collect data from residents and park users about each park’s unique identity and how to enhance and improve the village’s recreational offerings
as a whole . Together, the consultant team and community members huddled under pavilions during rainstorms (Covid having prevented indoor meetings)
and out in the open in nicer weather. Each gathering was hosted as an interactive dialog from which valuable and implementable data could be
cultivated and applied to the project’s final park plan report.
